Starting Instructions – CT4845 20” Chainsaw

Please follow the steps below carefully to ensure correct and safe starting of the chainsaw.

  1. Power Switch
    Ensure the ON/OFF switch is set to the ON position.

  2. Chain Brake
    Pull the chain brake handle fully back toward the front handle until it clicks into position.

  3. Choke (Cold Start)
    Pull the choke fully out.

  4. Initial Pulls
    Pull the starter cord up to a maximum of 5 times.

  5. Choke Off
    Push the choke fully back in.

  6. Second Pulls
    Pull the starter cord up to a further maximum of 5 times.

  7. If Engine Does Not Start Immediately
    Hold the throttle fully open and pull the starter cord 2–3 additional times.
    The engine should start.
